WHAT IS SANCID? The South African National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (SANCID) is the sole organisation representing South Africa at the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID). Web: http://www.icid.org ICID was founded in 1950 and SANCID became a member in 1992. The Constitution of SANCID was finally accepted at the eighth meeting of SANCID on 29 November 1993. SANCID is as widely representative as practicable of governmental, quasi-governmental and private organisations as well as learned societies involved in various facets of irrigation, drainage and flood control. |
